#QUINNteresting news of the week

Since many of you don’t follow us on Facebook (yes, you should, so now is a good moment to do it!), I thought it would be a good idea to take a look back to the latest news related to Rupert and the filming of the new season of Homeland. No big deal, or spoilers, nor photos on the set… but there were some news I’m sure you will want to know.

Starting with the good news, it seems that Rupert will attend the Emmy Awards next Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 7:00PM ET / 4:00PM PT. @SHO_PR confirmed the news yesterday on Twitter.  I’m already crossing my fingers for some fresh images of Rupert!! 😉 In case you don’t remember, Homeland is nominated as Outstanding drama series, Claire Danes as Outstanding lead actress in a Drama series, Lesli Linka Glatter as Outstanding directing for a drama series and David Klein is nominated as Outstanding Cinematography for a single-camera series. Good luck to all the cast and crew!!

Sadly, this good news comes with a bad one. The schedule of the PaleyFest NY 2016 (10/6 7pm) was announced on Monday. Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, F. Murray Abraham and Alex Gansa are in the list of attendees, but sadly, Rupert is not on it. Lesli Linka Glatter doesn’t appear in the list, although it seems that she could attend the event, so we still remain the hopes for Rupert. Especially after the tweet of @SHO_PR ensuring that all depends on the shooting schedule.

But there are still more opportunities to see Rupert (if you are lucky enough). Homeland filming is taking place in New York, as you all know. If you are in town, stay tuned to filming locations and perhaps you get a close-up shooting, or you can even see Rupert (good luck with that!!). For more information about filming locations (and about Homeland in general), you can follow @WTHomelands on Twitter or Tumblr.

Some casting news have been revealed: Elizabeth Marvel as U.S. President-Elect, Hill Harper as the chief of staff to the president-elect, Patrick Sabongui as a CUNY law professor and advocate for the Muslim-American community, Robert Knepper, playing the Department of Defense representative briefing President-elect and her transition team, and Dominic Fumusa, as the FBI Special Agent Ray Conlin.
But we still don’t know so much about the fate of Quinn in this new season, or the way in which all these additions to the cast or the fact of being in New York can affect his character. Everything about him seems to be a mystery. I even think Rupert’s absence in the PaleyFest could be related to the fact of keep his plot free of spoilers. So I want to think that something pretty good is coming for him this season. After some comments from Alex Gansa and the photos of the firsts days of shooting, we knew that Quinn, at least initially, will not be the same. I’ve always thought that Rupert could shine playing a character with physical and, above all, psychological damages, after the events of season 5. And it seems that’s what we will have. This week was published an interview with Lesli Linka Glatter, and what she said about Rupert has increased my anxiety (even more) for this season!!

Can you divulge anything about Peter Quinn, who Alex [Gansa] has said is alive, but his stroke has left him “very changed and altered.” We know Rupert Friend is back as a season regular, so clearly he’s in the mix.
Yes, he is in the mix. And just having been filming for a week, the work Rupert is doing is quite amazing.
From a bed?
He’s out of bed. The thing that is exciting about this show for me, as a director and a producer, is each season is its own new thing. It keeps all of us on our toes.

I just hope we have more information soon… because this waiting is being eternal!!

PS: We have created an event on the Facebook page for the Homeland season 6 premiere. Until that day, we will publish there all news related to Rupert and his character in the show. Check the link to access at the event.
