Rupert Friend on playing “The Kid”

Another old interview I just found… Originally posted by BBC News. September 15th, 2010

“As a boy, Kevin Lewis grew up in an impoverished family on a London council estate. He was beaten and starved by his parents, bullied at school and ended up in care. His story became a best selling book – The Kid. Now it’s been turned into a film starring Rupert Friend who explained the role to BBC Breakfast.”

  1. This is a gem, a real blast from the past! The horrific overtones of prolonged abuse and torture resonate now too with poor Quinn’s relentless misery and pain. Can Rupert please play a role which is fun and lighthearted?!
