Rupert Friend joins “Another Film Company” for representation as a director

Rupert Friend has joined Another Film Company for representation as a director.  Without too much information about it yet, we already know that Rupert plans to direct, write, and star in the feature film, Barton & Charlie & Checco & Bill. He will play Barton in the film which follows a down on his luck con artist, who meets a woman who he offers to teach the tricks of the trade. She quickly turns the tables on him and they embark on a road trip, along with a ten year old Mexican boy, where they’re pursued by a southern newspaper mogul, hell bent on revenge. The news was released by the company itself via and if you subscribe to that web, you will be able to read an interview with Rupert where he discusses his directorial career.

Another Film Company is an award winning, London based production company, producing commercials, virals, web content & music videos.
Set up in 2001 by ex Gorgeous founder, producer Tim Marshall and award-winning director Steve Reeves.
Another now has a roster of 14 (now 25) directors; Steve Reeves, Jeff Stark, Declan Lowney, Mark Denton, Olly Williams, Harald Zwart, Martha Delap, Lucy Blakstad, Marc Schoelermann, Luis Gerard, James De Frond, Adam Mufti, Caswell Coggins, Tim Brown and now, Rupert Friend.
Another’s house style is in performance but also specialises in comedy, documentaries, sfx, cars and fashion.
Our Directors work with the back up of one of the industry’s most talented production teams and a network of affiliations across the globe. Another is based in the West End.

According to Another Film Company via, the short film, Steve, will be screened on March 2nd at the Charlotte Street Hotel (London). Rupert is aiming to be there too, and there will be drinks before before and afterwards

As you know, Rupert made his directorial debut with the short Steve, (2010) starring Colin Firth. Rupert has also directed a video for British band Kairos 4tet and wrote and produced the short film The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of the Suicide Brothers (2009).

  1. I’m so glad for Rupert and how he’s exploring and growing in talent. He’s such an amazing actor and the fact that earlier than later he’s developing his writer and director side, tells about his creative capacity.
